The cutting edge of the program. Students apply computer vision, path planning, and lightweight AI models alongside their drone code. They design, build, and demo an autonomous mission — a drone that thinks, sees, and flies on its own.

Core curriculum

Four themed modules. Each module is a working block of lessons and labs.

1Module 1

Computer Vision

Image basics, color & shape detection, and object recognition that the drone can act on in flight.

2Module 2

Path Planning

Waypoint missions, simple A* / grid planners, and how to translate a plan into safe drone commands.

3Module 3

AI on Drones

Lightweight models for classification and detection; ethics and safety of autonomous robotic systems.

4Module 4

Capstone Mission

Design, build, and present a fully autonomous mission — a portfolio-grade demonstration of the year's work.
