AI Drone Programming

Teams program a drone to autonomously complete missions using Blockly, Scratch, Micro:bit, or Python.

Event overview

An AI programming track for autonomous drone missions. Teams choose from approved programming environments and submit autonomous flight code that completes the published mission.

Rules & format

Each section defines a part of how the event is run. Hardware limits, scoring, and safety are inspected on-site.

1Section 1

Programming Tools

Autonomous drone programming may use Blockly, Scratch, Micro:bit, or Python. Tool choice is reported at registration.

2Section 2

Code Submission

Code is downloaded onto the drone before inspection. After inspection, no code changes are allowed unless explicitly permitted.

3Section 3

Mission Run

The drone runs the mission autonomously. Best run among allowed attempts counts toward the score.

4Section 4

Scoring

Objective scoring by task points; time is used as the tie-breaker; safety violations carry penalties.
